What Is Team Bull Riding? A New Era of Competition Begins With United Bull Riders

Bull riding has always been one of the most exciting and challenging sports in the world.

The combination of athletic ability, mental toughness, and the unpredictable power of a bull creates a competition unlike anything else in professional sports. For decades, fans have gathered to watch riders test themselves against some of the toughest animals in the arena.

Now, a new chapter in the sport is taking shape.

United Bull Riders (UBR) is bringing a new team-based competition format to professional bull riding, creating an exciting experience that combines individual rider skill with team strategy, championship standings, and season-long competition.

Team bull riding is a competition format where individual riders compete as part of a larger team.

Instead of focusing only on individual results, riders work toward a shared goal: earning championship points and helping their team advance throughout the season.

Each ride contributes to the overall competition, making every attempt inside the arena meaningful.

In a team-based format:

Riders compete for their team
Points accumulate throughout the season
Teams battle for championship standings
The top teams advance toward a championship event

This creates a new level of excitement for fans because every ride can impact the final outcome.

How Does United Bull Riders Competition Work?

United Bull Riders is built around a team competition structure designed to bring riders, fans, and communities together. Throughout the season, teams compete for championship points at UBR events across the Midwest and beyond. Each event provides an opportunity for teams to gain valuable points and move closer to qualifying for the UBR Finals.

At the end of the season, the top qualifying teams will compete for the title of: United Bull Riders Team Champion

The format creates a season-long story that fans can follow from the opening event through the championship finale.

Why Team Competition Creates More Excitement for Fans

Traditional bull riding has always been exciting because every ride is unpredictable. Team competition adds another layer. Fans are not only cheering for individual riders — they are supporting a team throughout an entire season.

Every qualified ride matters.

Every point matters.

Every event matters.

This creates a stronger connection between riders and fans while encouraging communities to rally behind their local UBR events.
